Every year the BBC underwater photo contest attracts receives over 5000 photo’s.  From this 5000 photo’s these are the ten best with the German Tobias Friedrich as winner. He swept in the win with this panorama photo of a wreck in Egyptian waters.

A long lasted dream of Friedrich finally came true when he was able to get this shot.  Because of the small spaces in the Thistlegrom it was impossible to get the picture in one shot. The solution was to take several photos and blend them together creating the winning photo.

The BBC contest counts eleven categories such as wide-angle photo, macro and wreck. Below you will find all the winners:
