Unpacking the Seafrogs Salted Line Sony A6XXX-Series Underwater Housing

An affordable underwater housing for your camera is something which is as elusive as seeing a white manta. Yes there are some cheap housings which honor there name as being cheap and low quality. An reliable and high quality housing for a fair price is something we have yet to see for our Sony A6300 mirrorless camera. Until we came across the Sea frogs Salted Line underwater housing.

For a mere € 289,-/$ 325,- you are the proud owner of a underwater housing ready to take your Sony A6500, A6400, A6300 and A6000 to 200 ft/60 meters! The standard version is provided with a standard flat port which can house a series of lenses.

The standard version is ready to use with all a6xxx-series camera’s although you have to put an insert in when you want to use your Sony A6000 camera. This is a small procedure and easily done with a manual in hand.

Furthermore everything checks out. The housing feels solid, all the buttons are buttery smooth and also operate all buttons on the camera. This was one of the key selling points of the Salted Line for us since lower budget housing normally leave out several buttons to bring the cost down. The housing comes with a variety of accessories like spare o-rings for the port and housing, zoom-rings for several lenses and anti-fog inserts.

For now we we’re pleasantly surprised by the quality and contents of the package. For the full review we will extensively test the housing in all sorts of conditions and see if the Seafrogs Salted Line will hold it’s own.
